FIXME : Need proofreading and well, some stuff might be just downright stupid, but at least its not lorem ipsum.. :) I think for the tone of this text we should not put too much corporate crap here, more like friendly "this is joe, a cool dude working on the same goals as you!" - Stating the projects is probably good since we want to show we are not "just gnome folks trying to do something" - which is not true, since we are people from many projects..

Dave Camp 
People-dave.png Dave is a long-term developer on the Linux desktop and has contributed to many projects - Nautilus, the file manager and Beagle desktop search, just to name two. As a programmer Dave has also good insight on usability and user interfaces. He could be a cartoon artist if he wasnt a programmer.
Ryan Collier 
Incognito.png Ryan (a.k.a. pseudo), has been an active member of the Open Source community since 1997. His work spans many well known projects, including GUI design, usability guidelines, and artwork for the GNOME project, former support manager for, and is an expert web designer and Linux admin. Ryan is an accomplished Gimp artist and exclusively uses open source software at work and at home.
Rodney Dawes 
Incognito.png is the maintainer of the Gnome icon theme and actively participates in discussion for creating common standards and practices for the desktop.
Anna Dirks 
People-anna.png Anna is a usability expert who swears by user testing, common sense and especially using these together. She also has an engineering degree from MIT. She has worked on free software for several years, making the community more aware of the value of usability and consistency.
Nat Friedman 
People-nat.png Nat is one of the pioneers of Linux Desktop. He was one of the founders of Ximian that would later be acquired by Novell. Nat has started many interesting projects, like dashboard and beagle desktop search and Hula and many others.
Tuomas Kuosmanen 
People-tigert.png As an amateur pilot, Tuomas, one of the original Ximian monkeys, likes to take things higher. He defined the style and made the GNOME desktop look wonderful through his beautiful icon work. Tuomas is an avid GIMP user and supporter of free software and has been active in the community for nearly a decade.
Garrett LeSage 
People-garrett.png Original author of the BlueCurve theme used by Red Hat, also a long-term contributor of artwork and design for a lot of free software projects for several years. Garrett loves photography and has a nice gallery on his site if you are looking for nice desktop wallpapers.
Trae McCombs 
People-trae.png Trae McCombs was the founder of both and He's a geek, athlete, graphic designer and photographer.
Jakub Steiner 
People-jimmac.png has contritbuted a huge load of icons and other artwork to GNOME, and other free software projects. As you might have guessed, he likes photography, but also electronic music and mountain biking.
Kenneth Wimer 
People-ken.png is the artist and graphical maintainer of KDE project and a long term designer of SUSE Linux. Ken was once a butcher, so don't mess with him! :)
